GENDER INEQUALITY : EDUCATION

There is a pair of childhood sweethearts who went to the same school from elementary
school to high school. The boy was named Oscar, and the girl was named Bel. They are not
only in the same class but also in the same seat. Oscar has been fond of sports since he was
a child, and he often represents his school by participating in many sports, such as badminton,
basketball, football, and more. As a result, his studies are not good, his grades are plummeting,
and his ranking is always last in the class. And Bel's grades have always been improving, and
she is the first in the class.

One day, Bel hopes that she can get into the same college as Oscar, but she knows
that his exam results are definitely not good. Bel tried her best to think of many ways.
Eventually, she has an idea for Oscar. In the morning, Bel asked Oscar, "Hey Oscar, I prepare
three meals a day for you, but you have to go to my tuition classes, okay?" Oscar hesitated
for a while and finally said, "There are three free meals for me; why not?" Okay, I'll promise
you!"

The annual exam is coming, and Bel is diligently helping Oscar to revise every night.
After two weeks, the results came out: Oscar improved by ten places in the ranking. His
teacher and classmates were shocked by this. Oscar’s teacher always had the idea that boys
can't read. She believed that boys are naughty and do not like to attend classes, while girls
are obedient and clever students. So, not believing that these are Oscar's own answers, she
suspects that he is cheating.

This matter has been brought up with Oscar’s parents. Oscar's parents believed that
he did not cheat. On the contrary, Oscar's parents rebuke the teacher, "Why do you always
think that boys can't read better than girls?" The teacher dared not answer. Finally, they
checked out the CCTV cameras and proved that Oscar was innocent.

The moral value of this story tells us that we must not have gender inequality in
education between men and women. Education is a fundamental right that should not be
restricted to a certain gender. Every human being, male or female, has a right to education
because everyone is equal.
