GENDER INEQUALITY IN EDUCATION FOR GIRLS SOCIETY(DESCRIPTIVE)

    A quotation sounds “until we get equality in education,we won’t have an equal society
“ by Sonia Sotomayor. However, a lot of voices,views and motivations voice out, what have
been encountered is, gender inequality in education raising day by day.Gender Inequality
also defined by Merriem Webster refers to the quality of unequal or uneven (Merriam
Webster 2011). So what is gender inequality means about? Gender Inequality is a social
phenomenon in which men and women are not treated equally.The treatment may become
apparent from distinctions regarding biology,psychology, or cultural norms.Barriers to girl’s
education thus poverty , child marriage , and gender based violence.These all are vary
among countries and communities.

    When individuals are be in the hands of poverty, then they experience the number of
problems and challenges is too high.In some cases, they even experience problems meeting
their daily nutritional requirements.They usually do not possess financially to meet expenses ,
involved in the pursuance of education.Even when education is provided free of cost, they
still need to spend for their daily other expenses to move on their life such as uniforms ,
stationaries , books , bag , transportation cost and so on.In short, the poverty stricken
individuals experience problems in meeting the expenses.

    On the other hand , gender inequality in education leads to child marriage.What is
child marriage is about? Child marriage is when marriage of the individuals takes place when
they are below 18 years of age called teenagers.Child Marriage is bringing a lot of negative
effects mainly in education aspect.They merely are required to remain within the homes ,
care on household chores and responsibilities and care on family members. This is happens
because of the possession of traditional viewpoints and perspectives, individuals and groups
primarily belonging to rural community to get their girls married in an early age.For this
purpose they even train their girls on household chores from their initial age.

    Last but not least,gender based violence.In rural areas as well as urban communities,
women and girls have experienced criminal and violent acts to a major extent.Some of the
acts are physical abuse , rape , acid attacks , domestic violence, neglect and so on.These
acts create effects upon their physical as well as psychological health.For instance, in school
when a girl experience verbal abuse from fellow students then they usually do not drop
out.But when they experienced sexual harrasments they may drop out.Hence, occurrence of
criminal and violent acts are regarded as major barrios in education.

    In conclusion, the factors that influence the attainment of gender inequality in
education are proverty, child marriage and gender based violence.
