EXPOSITORY ESSAY : GENDER INEQUALITY IN PURCHASE THINGS.

    “Men and women have their own roles-their roles are different but their rights are equal” is a

quotation by Harri Holkeri. People always want to be treaten equally, as the world is fight against

racism and for their freedom. The main reason for wars to show who own the power, but it happens

in order to defend themselves. If a businessman needs a loan to start a company the bank is willing

to give them, but if a farmer need a loan eventhough the amount is low, the questions that will raise

up from them always will be high.Why it’s happens? This is wha we call inequality.There are many

inequality from different aspects around this world which created by human.

    Primary, according to The Mediterranean Journal of Science (2017) the way of shopping is

the main fact of this topic. This is because the motives of men for shopping is to be more utilitarian.

It’s means you’re shopping to get something done but the motives for women called as hedonic

which means you’re shopping because you love it. These different shopping motives and provides

different layout on their landing pages for men and women. For the men it’s provides a clear

navigation by product categories, for women it’s aims to sell an emotion.

    On top of that, pink tax which means consumer products targeted and advertised to women

are more expensive than products marketed to men. This is because women wish to buy similar day

to day products as men. Women are spend a lot of money over the course of their life. For an

example, based on one government study of united states the personal care products targeted to

women were 13% more expensive than similar men’s products. Meanwhile an analysis in the UK

found that women’s deodorant was on average 8.9% more expensive than men’s. It shows that

eventhough similar products the pink tax causes gender inequality.

    Last but not least, businessmen want to get more profit also affects the equality in gender.

We can see that, the businessmen try to fulfil both of their needs to get profit. Such as, if men and

women using same products they will share it to low the cost of the products but if they have their

own products for their gender, they must buy it eventhough it is a similar products. From this we get

know businessmen get high profit using this way as a strategy of their business.

In conclusion, gender equality is most important in this society to ensure a happy life.

Respect to for human rights and respect for equality between women and men must be give

attention by every person in world. The harmonious for both gender must be equal for a peaceful

world.
