However, research shows that consumer products targeted and advertised to women are sometimes more expensive than products marketed for men. Gender-based price disparities are prevalent in several sectors, such as personal care products, clothing, dry cleaning services and there are also have some effects of gender inequality in purchase things. First of all, one of the most visible is personal care products. These includes, soaps, lotions, razor blades and deodorants that are marketed specifically to either women or men. Then, we decided to do shopping at there.   Suddenly, Alice noticed some cosmetics products were on discount. She got nearer to it and took a look of it. At that time, she realised that there were have some differences in prices when compared to women and men in personal care products. GENDER INEQUALITY : IN HOME

Gender inequality is the biased treatment and and perceptions of individuals on their gende r.  Bohren, Imas and Rosenberg (2017) document discrimination against women on an online math platform and show that it is most consistent with discrimination based upon biased beliefs. Sexism is a social disease, women are downtrodden by so many, and ridiculed for choices that they make. This issue also happened at home. Therefore, there are some methods to minimize the gender inequality issues.    To combat this social disease , parents play the important role at home. Parents should be a good role models for their children by treat them fairly regardless of gender, that is not favoring one side over another. For examples, parents should delegate the housework and care giving role to boys from a very early age, along with girls. Parents need to give them a patient hearing, and perhaps learn from them.          Apart from that, govern...

GENDER INEQUALITY : EDUCATION

Image
In today’s 21st century, there are many different opinions about gender inequality in education, especially for girls. In old days education was restricted for girls and even nowadays girls are still restricted to continue their higher education. Malala Yousafzai became an international symbol of the fight for girls’ education after she was shot in 2012. Is higher education really important for girls? First and foremost, the benefit of girls' higher education is the existing leadership among women. Many women are innately driven to bring people together to achieve something bigger than themselves. They often motivate and inspire others to think in new ways and overcome obstacles. An example is Kamala Harris who is well-known as Vice President of the United States. This example proves that women can play roles as leaders in political aspects also and create world-level leaders. Moreover, we can reduce poverty worldwide when a women go to work after she finishes her higher education....

GENDER INEQUALITY : EDUCATION

Image
Throughout, the 20 th century, our view of life on gender equality has drastically changed.Yes,even though the world towards technologically modernization, there are still presence gender inequality in our society. According to Dr. Radhika Kapur (2019), gender inequality refers to unequal treatment or perceptions of individuals based on their gender. It arises from differences in socially constructed gender roles. In my point of view, there are a lot of gender inequality in many aspects as en example in education. Gender inequality in education causing by some factors such as management of households, restriction of parents and lack of confidence.      Past few decades, girls are mostly meant to play traditional roles such as manage households and given responsibility to taking care of their siblings even though they are still young to do stuff like this. They are also ordered to take care of their sibling after their parents go to work while do all the...

GENDER INEQUALITY : EDUCATION CAN CHANGE WOMEN’S LIFE

Image
Nelson Mandela once quoted that “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Yes, education is the key to wrestling with a hot potato issue nowadays which refers to gender inequality. I strongly believe that education can solve the inequality threat to women. Through education, women can protect and defend their rights themselves.      Discrimination in law is common. According to the research from UM Women (2019), there are more than 2.5 billion women around the world who are affected by discriminatory laws and lack of legal protection. Ginsburg, a lawyer known as a "feminist folk hero.", fought laws that discriminate based on gender (Meghan.C, 2020). Through the understanding of the law, women can voice up their thoughts and fight against this long-standing prejudice. Obviously, education provides women empowerment in tackling laws that discriminate against women.      Furthermore, education can bring ...

GENDER INEQUALITY : EFFECTS IN EDUCATION

Image
Social Inequality is the existence of unequal opportunities and rewards for different social positions or statuses within a group or society (Moffitt, 2017). Although there have been numerous protests, social inequality still exists nowadays and one of them is gender inequality  between men and women in education. Men's education levels are still higher compared to girls. The question remains is what is the effect of gender inequality in education on girls? Here are  several effects of gender inequality in education.      First and foremost, girls will have lower self-esteem due to inequality in education. Since they  didn’t receive a good education, they typically cannot read or write or even speak their mind. These circumstances drive them to think that they’re useless and will just rely on others. On the  other hand, an educated woman can be more confident. For instance, Kamala Haris acted as...

GENDER INEQUALITY : CAREER

Image
The process of globalization is accelerating and the number of working women is also increasing in the world.  However, the problem of gender inequality in the workplace also arises in this phenomenon. Many women in employment argue they are facing vast inequality gaps among men in the workplace. This problem causes them stress and anxiety while working. So, I believe this gender inequality against women was wrong and this should not be continuous.   The fight against gender discrimination has some progress has been made. More laws have given women fairly working rights in the workplace. For example, the   Equal Pay Act  was passed in 1963, making it a law to pay equal wages to men and women in all workplaces ( Maggie Wooll , 2021). These laws have been the solid backing for women to escape from gender inequality in the workplace. Women's working opportunities and their rights were protected by the law. If anyone tries to break this rule, they will be severely punish...

GENDER INEQUALITY : CAREER

Image
Currently, many women are facing the problem of discrimination gender in the workplace. Gender inequality is the most common form of discrimination. Discrimination gender is prejudice or discrimination based on one's sex. Gender inequality in organizations is a complex phenomenon that can be seen in organizational structures, processes, and practices (Cailin S. Stamarski, and Leanne S. Son Hing, 2015). There have many factors that cause discrimination against women and this should not be encouraged in the workplace because it brings bad effects on women.   The main factor in the discrimination against women in the workplace is prejudice and female stereotypes in the company culture. This can be proven by unequal pay. According to Maggie Wooll (2021), In 2020, women earned 84% of what men earned for the same job, and Black and Latina women earned even less. Part of the reason different income still exists in the workplace is that women has be regarded to b...

GENDER INEQUALITY : MUSIC INDUSTRY

Image
Gender inequality in the music industry, as the name suggests, is the unequal and biased treatment between the two sexes in the music industry. It is most commonly experienced by women from all over the world. Every music-experienced and talented  individual deserves a chance at their dream job as a music artist, no matter how they look or  what they believe in. However, the music industry is still overwhelmingly male-dominated in  every possible way, whether we are talking about singers, bands, classical musicians,  producers, record owners, or simply journalists or music industry workers. There are  numerous factors that contribute to females' less oppurtunities in the music industry.      First and foremost, the ideology says that males have the ability to make clearer decisions than females. Normally, in the music industry, males will have a clearer mind to  make decisions about which music albums need to be p...
